RULES We are fairly flexible people, but we still need to have a few rules in order to establish some kind of order. After being accepted in the game, you must join the game community as well as the OCC and owl post communities. Links to them can be found on the main community page here 1. HOLDING You are only allowed to hold two characters at a time. You are to comment in the CHARACTER DIRECTORY post with the character you want. PLEASE have a name and or a PB as well so we can hold those also, but if you haven't thought of it that is fine. 2. CHARACTERS You are, obviously, to have a journal for your character. ONLY ONE character on each journal, and it is for this community only. It can be the characters name-that is preferred- or it can be having something to do with the character. We'd like for you to have at least 30 icons, of JUST YOUR PB, and use them. Also, please keep the application/character information in a post or in the userinfo. There, please leave your contact information and your name so we know who plays who. The codeword is coke. Also, the PB name. The mod's need to reference that every now and then. You are NOT allowed to play two people of the same family. This means you can't play two Weasley's, two Potters ect. It's not fair and it takes away a lot of plotting options so don't even bother asking because we will say no. 3. APPLYING You are to have all aspects of the application done when you apply. Please apply within three to five days of placing a hold. The link to the application is to be placed in a comment to the APPLICATION PAGE, and please say if you had him/her held, and the name. 4. PLAYED BYS We are huge sticklers when it comes to PB's. There is a list of wanted/desired/suggested/banned PB's in the WANTED and PB pages. We'd like you to place holds on them first so we can save you the trouble of uploading icons and making the layouts with the picture of your desired PB if we deny them. We will only deny them if we see they are not fit for our game, like teenies such as Zach Efron and Paris Hilton, or myspace celebrities and scene girls. We don't allow people with multicolored hair, millions of ink and piercings. Also, please take a look at who you are applying for. If your character's parents were black (Lee Jordan, Angelina Johnson) or ethnic (Padma Patil), your character is not going to have a fully white PB. If your character is fifteen, your PB is not going to be thirty or look it. And try to look at the family PB's as well. If your characters old brother is all dark, your character shouldn't be really light unless there is a blatant, and obviously pointed out, difference in looks. 5. CHARACTER LIMIT We have put a limit of FOUR CHARACTERS per person, UNLESS we know you are active and you have talked to us. Also, everyone always knows that female characters go faster than male characters. We like to keep a good ratio, so our limit is three girls if you have a boy. PLEASE, try to have at least one male character? 6. GODMODING There is absolutely none allowed, of course. This infuriates us as well as other players. You must speak with your fellow player if you want something specific to happen, and you both must agree on it. If you have a problem with something the other player wrote, just talk to them and work it out. If the problem persists, just speak to us. If you want a large plot point involving your character(s), you must speak with the mods, and we will discuss it. 7. ACTIVITY This is a HUGE thing. We aren't sticklers in which we have weekly posts of who hasn't written in a week or anything, but we notice. You must post in your journal at least once a week. If you're having a lot of real life issues with family, friends, boyfriend, school, work, or you're just plain busy (we DO know that IRL is more important lol) then please post in the OOC community whats going on. You can post if you're going to be away for the day or just one or two, but you MUST post if you are going to be gone or inactive for more than four days. If we see that you are inactive after two weeks with any character you will get a warning, and if we don't see some activity within a week then the character will be dropped from the game without a second thought. If you do this numerous times, then we will kick the character out regardless. 8. THREADS All threads must be under an LJ-CUT. All threads must be rated. Why? Because we may have some under 17 members, and if there is sexual material, they can not read it. IF YOU ARE UNDER 17: YOU ARE NOT allowed to participate in any R rated or NC-17 rated threads. Also, when you make a new thread, please put the following: Those of you who do not include this, your thread may be deleted. <b>WHO:</b> <b>WHAT:</b> <b>WHERE:</b> <b>WHEN:</b> <b>WHY:</b> <b>RATING:</b> <b>STATUS</b> 9. DRAMA Everyone hates drama. Leave it for in character. There were be plenty of drama in the plot of this game. If you have a fight in character, keep in IN character. That goes for OUT of character as well. Please try to get along with the other players, but if there is a problem, ignore it or talk to us. If we see this not being followed, this will bring and immediate removal from the game. We are all here to play, not to fight. If there is a problem you need resolved, get a hold of one of the mods and we will deal with it quickly and quietly. 10. POSTING IN COMMUNITIES Please know where everything goes. Your threads/logs go in the COMMUNITY, darkest_secrets. You do not post there when you're going away, what your character is feeling, or that you wrote in your journal. All of your character writings go in YOUR personal character journals. All of the OUT OF CHARACTER postings go in the OOC community, darkest_ooc. All of your Owls go in the Owl community, darkest_owls. 11. POST SIZE Your journal posts can be as long as you want, but try not to do one liners once a week. Do a couple of one liners, one or two long ones. It keeps things interesting. Now, as far as logs and threads go, keep 'em long. I lied, the codeword is actually going to be sprite. Now, I know some people have problems with that, but if ALL of your thread posts are one liners, it's not gonna go anywhere. Logging in IM's or googledocs is a lot easier because those posts are meant to be longer. It's really about QUALITY rather than QUANTITY. If we see a problem, we'll contact you.
